Last week I have been to France with family to celebrate my grandfather's efforts in the war. He fought for the free French and landed on Utah beach and then walk to Paris along the D26. We Left Great Chesterford on Friday Spent the in Trouville and visited Deauville and Honfleur on Saturday. It was raining when we arrived at the Chateau so couldn't take photos until the following day. We went to Utah beach on the Sunday for the celebrations. We discovered lots on the war this holiday. We also did some non-war related to entertain my nieces and nephews. One day I wanted to go to see the Bayeux Trapestry and the Cathedral. My Dad also wanted go to Caen to see the memorial which was a HQ in the war. The last Day Pointe du Hoc and then went for a nice lunch in Port-En-Bessin which was a lovely Marina.
